Biography of Pastor W. F Kumuyi – Early life and family
Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi, the founder and General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry was born on 6 June 1941 to a Christian family (Anglican church) in Orunwa, Ogun state, Nigeria. He became born – again in April 1964 and was influenced by John Wesley, Charles Finney, and Charles Spurgeon.
Pastor Kumuyi met Abiodun Olowu in September 1972 and they got married on 13 September 1980 in Lagos. Pastor W. F Kumuyi’s marriage is blessed with two children namely Jeremiah and John. His wife, Abiodun Kumuyi died on 11th April 2009. This was a painful moment for him.
The departure of his wife was sudden and it happened when she was most needed in church administration; the women’s ministry was lagging and he needed to marry another who would help out in women ministry. Pastor W. F Kumuyi on 13th October 2010 Kumuyi married Folashade Adenike Blaize in London.

In 1961, he completed his secondary school education at Mayflower School in Ikenne, Ogun State. Pastor W. F Kumuyi got admitted into the University of Ibadan and in 1967 graduated with a first-class honors degree in mathematics. It is worthy to note that he also graduated as the overall best graduating student that year. He subsequently took a post-graduate course in Education at the University of Lagos. Pastor Kumuyi also began teaching mathematics in 1962 at Mayflower School, his alma mater. He went on in the early 1970s to become a lecturer of mathematics at the University of Lagos. Today, Pastor W. F Kumuyi is a professor in the field of mathematics.

Pastor W. F Kumuyi Ministry all started in 1973 at the University of Lagos. Pastor Kumuyi began a Bible study group in 1973 with 15 students who had come to him for Bible training while being a lecturer at the University of Lagos. This training became the foundation of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry.

The ministry has the international headquarters of its church in Gbagada, Lagos and the auditorium at this headquarters could sit up to 30,000 worshippers. The ministry also has its conference center, the Deeper Life Conference Centre in Ogun State at Kilometre 42, Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, and the International Bible Training Centre (IBTC) at Ayobo, Lagos.
Pastor W. F Kumuyi preaches on, Christian living, holiness, and integrity. He has mentored many young and old men who are now General overseers such as Pastor Paul Enenche when they were young through bible study. Pastor W. F Kumuyi is a man who is passionate about the youth; he is into leadership training such as Bro Gbile Akanni. He organizes leadership conferences for church workers and ministers so that the accurate doctrine of the Lord would be passed on.
